Why Do You Work Hard?

Why do you work hard at trying to learn to make money online?

Do you have debt that is overwhelming, and you feel as if you’re in bondage…why do you work hard all the time?

How about medical needs that are not being met – do you need to go to the dentist and have put it off?

Are there family members that have college bills due or college loans to pay off?

Can’t make it with your current income anymore?

I’m very happy that I’ve had good success this year in Internet marketing and want to share one tip that has really helped me stay the course and achieve my goals.

Remind yourself of WHY it is that you work so hard and are doing what you do!

Why Do You Work Hard?I simply took out a yellow piece of construction paper and found pictures in magazines to make up a Goal Poster.  The purpose was to remind myself why it is I do what I do, and why it is I KEEP ON KEEPIN’ ON when things get tough.  I placed my Goal Poster on the wall near my computer in full view always.

On my poster, I have listed:

Erase Debt – Debt-free living
College Bills – 4 years worth – coming up
Dental Work
No Mortgage
Retirement – (need to prepare)!

See another valuable post called Work Life Balance Without Excuses Course by Tiffany Lambert – Review

I also have a picture of my family close by.

my familyThis REALLY helps me know that there is a high priority on what I am doing and that creating a successful business online will greatly help my family and achieve the goals on my poster.

As your goals are met, you’ll swap them out for new goals!

I already need to update mine!

So, when the difficulties come and the roadblocks make you feel like quitting, remind yourself of the answer to the question:  Why do you work so hard ….

I’d love to hear your thoughts below.

UPDATE:  I’ve achieved most of my goals (all dental work taken care of and have eliminated debt, and paying CASH for my son’s college education, one semester to go, have NO mortgage)!  Need to work on retirement and vacation funds still.  Woo hoo!

Take Care,
Carol Amato

Thanks Carol for the tips, it make me realise that “WHY” is importance for me to keep me going, your goal board is simple and I think it is within everybody desire, especially my self when I jump to internet marketing a bit late at age early 40s and start learning from the scratch, how terrible to learn so much things in short time of period but your tips motivate me and I will stay with internet marketing, once again thank very much.

    • http://www.CarolAmato.com/ Carol Amato

You’re welcome. I started Internet marketing a bit later in life as well, but it is never too late to learn and be successful at something new. For example, I just started piano lessons and am enjoying that a lot.

Carol, although I’ve just started on this journey(about a week ago), I appreciate the fact that you are involved in making all of us a success. Thank you and as I progress I will most certainly keep you informed. About Warray’s post; you are never to old to start a journey, that will hopefully change your life. I am 61 and can’t wait to see the fruits of my labor. As a Veteran living off of a tiny disability and not working right now, I am pretty certain that I will suceed. I have just finished my 4th part-time term at St Petersburg college, so that I could improve my work outlook, but without a Bachelors Degree, chances are slim to non. Carol, keep us informed and any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi Carol, I also have a goal poster for what I want to accomplish with my internet business. I am just starting and appreciate that you are willing to help. I already have a lot on my plate as I had to give up my MK business and retire early because of my health issues and to become he caregiver to my husband who has Myasthenia Gravis (a form of MD) and his sister (who has Down Syndrome and Alzheimer’s). So you see I really have to find a way to bring in extra money for all of our needs.

    Thank you so much,

Carol thanks for the hot poster tip. I reminded me of my granddaughter’s poster she had to make naming things she would to have in life. An I said if she can have that kind of imagination and believe it so can I. Thanks

      Hey Cynthia,

Have already scratched off one goal that has been accomplished and another is 1/3 of the way there! I’m making huge progress on my goals because I am working hard at it each and every day.

Your granddaughter is way ahead of the game! :)

Hi Carol, First; You are an inspiration! Second; (Be patient as I get a little wordy here) For the readers here who aren’t familiar with Anthony Morrison, you have no idea what you’re missing! Everyone else here knows what I’m talking about. Your poster is a GREAT idea, but it would help if your readers who use the idea would try to put “positive” pictures on it. We all live with negative things in our lives everyday. Physical pain from work, stress on the job, headaches and worries from bills, etc. Put pics up of all the things that will make you happy in each of your goals.(e.g. A beautiful smile instead of a mouth eating all your money would be a little more positive.) I liked the pick of the diploma and the gorgeous house by the water. Even the cartoon of the plane and someone jumping for joy was good! We all (99.9%) have been raised in a negative society and it takes a lot of work and effort to BE POSITIVE ! We all have to train ourselves to be abso-tively posi-lute. Anthony Morrison has the right idea about education! We can only be successful if we educate ourselves. I’m a strong believer in educating myself first! NONE of us will be successful if our attitudes are wrong! So whoever reads this comment must believe in themselves first! Go to a library if you can’t afford books and read as many self-help and positive thinking books that you can get your hands on! There is an old negative saying,”garbage in, garbage out”. Do yourself a favor and put in as much positive info and attitude as your brain and heart can handle, and you will be amazed with what comes out of you. Sorry this was so long….but thought it may help at least one of your readers. Thank you for your desire to help others and I’m sure we’ll meet someday. Joe

    • http://www.CarolAmato.com/ Carol Amato

      Hi Joe,

Thanks for your comment. I should make a new goal poster, because the picture of teeth was to represent all the dental work that needed to be accomplished at the dentist and that is taken care of – what a blessing. :)

Thanks for stopping by. – Carol

  • http://ourlifeinsidethebox.blogspot.com Becky Fisher

    Hi Carol!

I used to make these but haven’t in a long time. I’ll have to revisit that. When I did mine I found priorities would change occasionally. After a few times I began to glue or tape the goal photos on card stock and put a piece of velcro on the back. The other side of the velcro went on the poster board so I could rearrange the goals and add/delete some. Another idea is a ‘goals met’ poster as well. Sometimes we need to be reminded how far we’ve come and what we’ve already accomplished. I keep a folder of before and after photos on my facebook account. I’ve recently lost 60 lbs and need to be reminded how far I’ve come when I get discouraged.

    Thanks for a great post!

    • http://www.CarolAmato.com/ Carol Amato

      Hi Becky,
I was just thinking last night that I need to go in to that blog post and update it to reflect my new one at home – because a lot of progress has been made, thank the Lord!
I like your ideas – fantastic! Congratulations on your success meeting your weight loss goals! That is very inspiring! :) Thanks for stopping by. – Carol

    • http://www.CarolAmato.com/ Carol Amato

      Hey Uncle Tom,

Yep, time flies when you’re having fun – lol
That course should really get you going with WordPress, as it is excellent and thorough training. Just take it one video at a time.
It is a layering process for sure and there is a learning curve with everything new that we all attempt.
You can learn from free sources for sure. There is a lot of free POWERFUL info on my blog.

Use the Search feature on the right side of my blog, to type in any term that you are wondering about. For example, type in “squeeze page” and hit Enter on your keyboard. You will see all the Posts on my blog about squeeze pages…

Also, YouTube and Google – they are excellent for tutorials. Just do a search for ” __ tutorial” in YouTube, and you will see a bunch of videos that teach about it. Whatever you are interested in learning about, you can search for a tutorial about it.

    Dear Carol,

I already purchased my site, my hosting account, i also have Awaber, and i already know the product i want to promote. I have trying to configure my site with word press and finally upload it but i do not know how to do it. Can you tell me where to find a trainning guide of how to do this or you recommend to hire the services of an expert for this procedures. Do you configures your own sites? If you do, then you are bless becouse this is not something ease to do.

    Please, can you help me?

    • http://www.CarolAmato.com/ Carol Amato

      Hello Anthony,
I’m not sure what you mean by “I already purchased my site”….

If you have hosting, didn’t you install a free WordPress blog from your Control Panel in Hosting account? Choosing a product to promote is not the first step…

All I can share is the way that I did things:
      In a Nutshell:

      • I decided on a market. (What are you interested in, passionate about and knowledgeable about?)
      • I decided to brand myself and registered my domain CarolAmato.com with NameCheap.
      • I got a hosting package with Bluehost.
      • I created a free report to give away. (I did a search on Ezine Articles to find 5-6 great articles, and copied and pasted them into a Word doc [including bio and author’s link to give credit, if not, this would be stealing] and then made it into a PDF for a free gift.)
      • I downloaded FileZilla and SharePoint designer to be able to make a squeeze page and send files back and forth from my computer to my hosting for stuff. – you can get them on Free Stuff on my blog.
      • I created a squeeze page using SharePoint designer.
      • I signed up with AWeber to start a list, make an easy opt-in form, to put the little code on my squeeze page so that when people sign up, they will be on my list in AWeber.
      • I uploaded that squeeze page to my host.
      • I created a signature in the different forums I visit to promote my squeeze page to start building a list.
      • I installed a free WordPress blog on my domain, right from inside the cPanel in Bluehost.
      • I put content on my blog daily.
      • I added affiliate offers on my blog.
      • I started driving traffic.
      • I sent emails to my list.
      • I collected money.

If you need to learn basic skills of WordPress, I do recommend the WordPress Crash Course, which is on my site, on the right side.

Courses will help you, but the truth is, I learned by trial and error…just by doing it, making mistakes and learning from my mistakes. It is a constant layering process, but I really enjoy it!

Anything worth learning has a learning curve, but that goes with all good things…

      Hope to help. :)
