What’s Going On This Summer?
Hi, everyone! I thought I would just take some time to chat a little bit and let you know what has been going on with us.
First of all, boy is it HOT here in Milton, Florida! I love the warm weather though and can’t imagine living anywhere else.
We’re all staying very busy with work. My son, Daniel, has been helping me in my business since he graduated and is learning very quickly. He will be majoring in business so this is a nice opportunity for him to get hands on experience.
He sees daily what it takes to run an online Internet marketing business. His first college bill came in the mail which is VERY motivating.
I’ve enjoyed having my daughter, Emily, here with us before she moves to Guam. We enjoy many of the same things, not the least of which is cooking, which makes it so pleasant when delegating who gets to make dinner each evening. She is the life of the party, and I’ll miss her greatly when she moves.
My husband is very busy with his business as this is high season for him. My son also helps his dad, and we have seen that Daniel has already developed an entrepreneurial spirit which probably comes from being exposed to parents who have owned businesses all their adult life.
I really enjoy watching the birds that come to feed in my backyard. The cardinals have hatched a little brood of chicks and now these half-grown fledglings come to feed, looking very scruffy and splotchy in color. They fight for the best seed, and it is very entertaining to watch them interact. One of my favorite birds is the black-capped chickadee – so graceful in their quick movements.
The doves are common visitors and enjoy the safety of the big water oak tree as there is a huge area hawk that continually preys on them. I once witnessed a dove being captured and eaten alive right before my eyes – all from my office chair! I have the feeders placed just a few yards from my office window. It was horrible to see that happen even though I know that the hawk has to survive also. I try to prevent that from happening in my yard by putting the feeders closer to the big ole’ water oak tree.
Absolutely looking forward to a trip to Virginia in August to attend my niece’s wedding and see family. I’m thrilled for her as she has really found someone special, and I get to share this beautiful day with them. It’s always a great time to all get together and catch up on the events of our lives. I love my family dearly and count it such a blessing to have a huge family, 6 brothers and sisters with families.
Summer Goodies: We’ve made one batch of homemade ice cream – flavor Coffee! What’s your favorite flavor?
On the Horizon
I am working on two BIG projects, one of which will be announced the end of July, the second towards the end of the first week of August. It’s very exciting to me and I’ll share the details when I can. Please click “Like” at the top of the page – Thanks!
