    Hi, Carol,

Thanks for the heads up about this plugin coder and for the great information on JustRetweet. I have used ReTweet, but not JustRetweet. I’ll have to try that out.

    Have a wonderful evening!

      Hi Marica,

You’re welcome, I was saddened by that plugin being launched…..terrible!

Anyway, let me know how you like JustRetweet.

No that Plug in is not good. You want your site to be legitimate. I want to know the actual count or lack there of and why! This way I can build on my success and learn from my failures. Isnt that the point?

    • http://www.CarolAmato.com/ Carol Amato

      Hi Don!

Absolutely for the accurate results, but also the deceptive way they built this plugin is with the “herd mentality” in mind…..so folks are being lied to in my opinion. I think it’s just plain wrong. But also could come back to bite them if Google makes a change and warrants this type of thing “bad” territory…

Thanks for stopping by to share your thoughts. :)

I would put it in the “Black Hat” Marketing camp. It wouldn’t be illegal, but unethical enough for the social media sites to ban its use on their websites. I’m not sure if this program is used on personal websites or on social media websites of choice. I can’t imagine that its an application that any of the top social media sites would allow to be installed.

Good article, Carol. Great website here. Is this technically a blog or a website, or a kind of hybrid?

    • http://www.CarolAmato.com/ Carol Amato

      Hi Chris,

I agree, it’s definitely Black hat and unethical, and is used on various platforms. Unfortunately, this plug-in is being sold on the JV Zoo network. In fact, a month or two ago I had to alert JV Zoo administration about a product that was on their affiliate network whereby the affiliate was actually STEALING from Hostgator. The product was removed and he was banned.

I’m afraid many times the filtering system is “check it out IF there’s a complaint.” Oh, there may be systems in place to try to disallow some of the trash, but I’ve seen a lot get through…

CarolAmato.com is a WordPress self-hosted blog. I use the Thesis theme and designed my blog myself, with the exception of the custom-made header. Lots of evolving, but I’m pretty happy with it.

I appreciate you stopping by to share your thoughts and wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving. :-)

Thanks for taking a stand on this Carol. I’ve seen too many tools and training that promote deception as a way to do business. Things like this plugin you mention or ones that pretend to be a instant message popup, etc.

I’ve also seen training that advocates creating multiple fake ideas on SM sites to post backlinks, etc.

It’s always nice to see others in the industry who are willing to go beyond just avoiding these techniques, but actually speak out against them!

      Hi Bill,

I totally agree, and appreciate your kind words very much. I know of a lot of marketers with integrity, but we are definitely in the minority. :-)

      Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

    HI Carol,
Great post! It’s amazing how many people peddle so much garbage. If they’d devoted the same time and effort to legitimate products, it would result in much longer lasting success.

Even after Panda and Penguin, people still think they can beat Google, a multi-billion dollar powerhouse that hires the best and the brightest. It’s like believing you can beat the IRS! You may trick them in the short-term but be prepared to suffer the consequences as they don’t look to kindly on those who think it’s a game to be won with deception.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

      Hi Paul,

I couldn’t agree more, and very well said!

It’s a shame that some unethical marketers think that using psychology such as the “herding mentality” is the only type of psych they can use. I never even think about using psych in my marketing, as I just speak from my heart and share what I learn, but there are positive ways to use good skills in order to share upright products/programs.

It all has to do with the person’s character…

Thanks for stopping by to share your thoughts. :)

      Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving!

    Hi Carol,
Thanks for the warning. I hadn’t run across this one yet. I’ve stopped “collecting” everything that comes along and then being afraid to use it. Right now, am trying to get Dragon set up so my fingers and arms can get a rest…Thanks for all your hard work, and especially for your ethics.

    • http://www.CarolAmato.com/ Carol Amato

      hello Ruth,

Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate it. :-)

Yes, it never ceases to amaze me at the low level some unethical marketers will stoop to… Terrible. :(
You are going to love Dragon NaturallySpeaking. I simply couldn’t do all that I get done without it!

have a wonderful evening, and if there’s anything I can do to help you, please let me know.
