As Internet marketers, we’re always looking for new and easily adaptable ways to make money, brand ourselves and build our businesses. Today, I want to discuss three ways that you may not have thought of to accomplish all of the above – making money with Udemy, Pathwright and MindBites, which I will be delving into in 2014.
Basically, all three sites involve promoting and selling customized online courses using readings, special projects, live streams, videos and more. You can highlight your own URL and customize the design. It’s like having your own online school where your followers can pick and choose their courses.
It’s much easier than it might sound. With either of these platforms, you can effortlessly create and sell courses and access to videos or content — and you don’t even have to manage servers or develop a hosting plan. It’s all done for you.
Each platform – Udemy, Pathwright and MindBites – works a little different from the others, but have the same goals – to help you develop a pathway of learning for your customers and followers and let you coach and mentor others in your own unique way.

Check out a brief explanation of all three platforms below and decide which would be best for your needs.
Features of Pathwright
For years, universities and colleges have been experimenting with online courses. As Internet marketers, we have much that we can teach others who are thinking of building successful online businesses.
You may have lessons to teach that don’t have anything to do with online marketing. Whatever path of mentoring you want to take, you can do it easily and quickly with Pathwright.
With Pathwright you can create customized content learning streams called Paths. You’ll be able to tweak them with images, videos, links and other attachments. There’s even an area where you can track what your students are learning. Even the students can have a unique URL that lets them brand their site.
Pricing options are many for Pathwright. You can pre-purchase credits if you suspect that your video course will have many registrants and reduce the cost. Rather than paying $7, plus 4% of sales, you’ll pay $4 per credit. The Pathwright site contains a breakdown for credits if you pre-purchase.
Pathwright can help any educator – meaning anyone who has the knowledge that may be valuable to others – creating learning paths that will help lead others to success. Meanwhile, you’re also teaching and living the craft that can make you a successful person, both in business and personally.
Features of MindBites
MindBites is made up of two parts – the video marketplace and platform offerings. The video marketplace helps you sell online access to videos that you produce. You set the price, configure it and upload instructional videos to MindBites, and they help you sell it through their platform.
MindBites’ platform options offer tools to help you create your own customized video store where your customers can purchase access to various videos. You can add links to the store to your site(s) so they don’t have to go through the MindBites store and other videos for sale.
You control how the store is run just like managing a brick and mortar store. When followers purchase from the store, they’re returned to your site and store where they can login and access their purchases.
MindBites will create previews, deliver the videos and handle commerce and support. All you need to do is upload your videos, tack on a price, title and brief description and choose the ‘Publish’ button. MindBites does the rest.
You can sell your videos as needed through MindBites, from your online site(s) and even from your iPhone. With MindBites you can utilize a full video toolset that lets you customize and brand your videos as you choose. There’s even a special feature that lets you use your dashboard and analytics to track your earnings – and to grow them.
Like Pathwright and MindBites, Udemy is a platform that lets you create and host courses. Also like the others, you can build the courses online as you choose, upload the video or PowerPoint presentations, PDFs, zip files or PDFs to create and enhance the courses.
Discussion boards in Udemy also make it possible to interact with your users online and develop true and lasting relationships with them. You may offer free courses too – or charge whatever you like for a course.
Sell your instructional videos through Udemy, and you get to keep 70% of the profit while Udemy keeps 30%. High school and college instructors have made sums of money on Udemy that would be impossible as a teacher in a school.
Any time you offer videos, on what you know and what you can do for others, it will help brand you as an experienced instructor. But, rather than offering them strictly from your sites and blogs, Udemy offers a vehicle where you can reach people who may not see your videos otherwise.
