Intro to Clickbank

Today I just wanted to shoot a quick video of an Intro to Clickbank because so many of you have been asking me about it, and so many of you are interested in affiliate marketing so I thought I’d cover a few minutes on an Intro to Clickbank.

Click Arrow to Play, then double click for full screen…

What is Clickbank?  It’s a marketplace where affiliates and vendors come together to do business.

Now, a vendor is the product owner who comes to Clickbank to apply to be able to sell his or her product on a Clickbank Marketplace.   An affiliate would be someone that promotes a product and earns a commission if that product sells.

It’s a huge website.  Clickbank has literally thousands and thousands of digital products.  Now these products are not physical products that would be delivered to your door, or to your mailbox.  These are e-books, video trainings and just different things on the Internet that are able to be downloaded – products that are digital.

It’s a wonderful marketplace were vendors and affiliates come together. You could sign up, you can click this – learn more about it under the ‘Affiliates’ green word, or you can sign up as an affiliate up here, above where it says ‘Sign Up.’  I’m going to click that link, and it will take you to a form that you will fill out.  It’s pretty standard – you would put your name and address and contact information.

Intro to Clickbank

It’s very important to write down your nickname.  Contact information is important, but you need to write down your nickname and password for Clickbank.  I always keep a little notepad up on the side, and I always am ready to paste information in or type important information in there to save – so that’s a good habit to get into.

You would read the agreement, always read what you’re signing and agreeing to! Check the button and continue on after youClick to Tweet Intro to ClickBank have filled in the fields.

So I wanted to briefly show y’all the marketplace.  It is a fantastic vast area where you can scan different categories to the left here, and see that there are main headings, and if you click on the arrow, subheadings will populate.  For example Arts and Entertainment is a main area, and then there is Architecture, Art, Body Art, Dance, Fashion and so on below the main area.  You would just click on the main category to populate the submenu, and click again, to close it back up.

Down here, you can see that there is a Self-Help category and different popular categories and subcategories.  Then we have Home and Garden, Animals, Pets.  We also have E-Business and E-Marketing, and I promote some products in this category.  I’ve clicked on it and have come here to show you some of the products that are being promoted right now.

Right here will give you a gravity score, and you can go on and read the details about it, but this basically is telling you how well this particular product is selling.  So the higher the gravity score, the more that it’s selling!  You can find out all the details if you would click on Help Center, this red tab up here to the right.  You can read a lot of things about how to use Clickbank to the fullest.

If you’re interested in a particular product, you would actually click on the link of the product name, and it would take you straight to the sales page.  You would see all about it, and decide if it was something you think is valuable, and see if it’s something you want to associate yourself with.  Then you would decide whether you want to promote it, and if you would, you would click the promote button.Intro to Clickbank

Then you’d be shown a pop-up window where you would actually enter in your account name, your Clickbank nickname.  This is something that you need to write down when you’re signing up and registering for Clickbank. Enter your account nickname, but I’m not going to cover tracking ID right now.  So say you want to promote Commission Commando product… You would click on promote, enter your nickname, click on create.  (Note:  I have not checked into Commission Commando and don’t know if it’s a good product or not – used as an example only).

The top link that populates is your unique affiliate link that you would need to save somewhere.  You could highlight, right click, copy… Then right click and paste into notepad document so that you have that unique affiliate link saved. You need to save this in a very easy to remember place.  And we’re going to type in the name of the product as well by the affiliate link, so we don’t lose it and can associate the correct link with the right product.

So we’ve got the link, and you would go ahead and close the window.  So for this example, Commission Commando is what it’s called, and I got the name and my unique affiliate URL saved.  When I promote this particular URL, if I put this URL into a browser, it will take me to that very sales page that I checked out by clicking on the title and Clickbank.

However, there’s one HUGE difference – my nickname for my click bank account is embedded and encrypted into this URL in order for me to get credit if somebody buys Commission Commando!

Then it will show up in your account, in your back office in Clickbank.  So that’s how you would promote a product and keep all your links and names of the products you are promoting together so that you don’t get mixed up – it’s easy to do if you start promoting a bunch of affiliate products.

Intro to Clickbank

I briefly wanted to show you all CB Engine.  This is a really cool website where you can save a lot of time because they have all of the top selling products from Clickbank easily searchable on this website, and easily stacked from 1 to 10 – from top to bottom.

So over here in this blue search field, I’m going to choose Top Category, choose ALL, leave it set at ALL.  Subcategory, Top Only; Ranked In, I’m going to choose Top 10, and I’m not going to choose any keywords, I’m just going to look at all of them. I’m going to click on search.

I have filtered all of the top 10 highest selling Clickbank products in all of the different categories available on Clickbank.  This is a nifty convenient site.  CB is where you want to go.

You’ll see here they are, Arts and Entertainment and back at Clickbank, we saw Arts and Entertainment as a category with all of those subcategories in it.

Over at CB it’s telling you what’s selling the most in that category.  You see gravity is one of the columns, and it shows the highest to lowest in order.

You can click on these particular products to see if it’s something you’d like to promote.  You can continue on to the other categories to see if there’s something that you might be interested in promoting as an affiliate to make commissions.  So this site allows you to see what is hot and what is selling right now.  It’s a great time-saver.  CB Engine is free.

Click here to see another valuable post called..ClickBank vs. ClickSure – What Are the Differences?

Let me click on this Help Center tab so that you can see that any question you possibly have will be covered in the Help Center –  Affiliate Help.  And they also have a search field in the upper left corner that you can type it into.  Say you’re interested in how you get paid, you can type in “payment schedule” and then it will direct you immediately to the correct help article.

Clickbank is absolutely free to sign up and register as an affiliate or vendor.  Get started, get an account and check out their Help Center.  Then I recommend checking out the Marketplace to see what you may be interested in promoting.

I wanted to ask you about the Anthony Morrison prgram. I bought his book and now I am being called by the TV guru real estate guy. Dean Graziosi. Were you trained by Anthony? What do you suggest for a newbie trying to get into this IM arena?

    • Carol Amato

      Hi Steve,

I saw Anthony on TV in the beginning of the year and ordered his first book, Advertising Profits From Home. It was great and gave me the inspiration to start Internet marketing. However, I did not have the budget to do any of the coaching or take any of the course, so I launched out and found my own less expensive way.

Anthony has helped me with email marketing and some other things for sure.

My suggestion to you would be to watch the Golden Nuggets – Internet Marketing Basics video that I sent you if you haven’t already. I give a challenge at the end that would be the starting point. This video shows my business model and how I am making money.

Also, Use the Search feature on the right side of my blog, to type in any term that you are wondering about. For example, type in “squeeze page” and hit Enter on your keyboard. You will see all the posts on my blog about squeeze pages…

      Hope to help. :)

Where can I find the Golden Nuggets IM basics. I am a part time real estate investor, and I want to keep keep my wife home from her job. We would only need $2,000/month to do this. I am thinking about learning IM gradually, and really get agressive this summer, as we both have 2.5 months off. My extra time is very limited.right now.The Real Guys Coaching Club looks interesting…would you recommend learning on my own, or hiring a coach? I found your blog on Anthony Morrisons forum. These quick 47.00 software emails I get look tempting, but I need to lay a foundation of knowledge before I can move forward ie Google Sniper, etc…Any suggestions?

        • Carol Amato

          Hi Steve,

The link to the Golden Nuggets – Internet Marketing Basics video was included in several of the emails you received from me, especially the first Welcome email. I’ll send it again for your convenience.

I started on my own but owe my fast progress due to the fact that I got a personal coach.

Watch the video, so you’ll see my business model and how I am making money. Then, do the challenge at the end.

I’ll send it again to you via email.

Have a blessed weekend. :) Carol

I could’nt help but notice how great the screen shots looked in the video.
could you do a lesson on this topic. I know lots of us would want to utilize this visual asset in our marketing.

    • Carol Amato

      Hi Randy,

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video. I used Camtasia to record my screen while teaching on Clickbank. It is a purchased tool by TechSmith.
      Hope to help.

  • Joe H.

Thanks for helping me get going with all the resources and info! I have a technical question for you. I have signed up with clickbank and I’m promoting a product on my Facebook page. When I try to enter my clickbank link on my Fanpage of my niche, the actual domain owner’s page comes up on my Facebook page. QUESTION: If a visitor to my page clicks on that website link, do you know if I would be linked through that to get credit for any sales from that page? Thanks for any help you can give. Joe

    • Carol Amato

      Hello Joe,

      You’re welcome!

If they click on the regular domain of the main owner’s page, you would not get credit, it must be your affiliate, unique URL…with your Clickbank nickname embedded and encrypted into it.
However, I usually edit the thumbnail by clicking on the title and then the description…….I make it whatever I want.
      Hope to help. – Carol

    Hi Carol,

Quick question…Do you teach affiliate marketing for “newbies” on video? Love your videos, much easier to learn and understand than just reading from a script…more vids please!

    • Carol Amato

      Hi Hilda!

Thanks for the kind words – so glad you enjoy my videos. I currently don’t have any videos out on affiliate marketing, but will definitely put it on the list~!

  • Glenn Russell

When I see all these crazy Clickbank screenshots, with thousands being earned every month, I can’t help but wonder if these are simple affiliates, or are they mostly individuals “launching” products as “vendors” that are making all the big dough?

    • Carol Amato

      Hi Glenn,

I can assure you – it is actually BOTH! I know several super affiliate marketers who really do well with affiliate marketing. Some don’t care to ever have their own products. Great thing is, it’s free to join and free to promote! You can only earn….which makes it risk-free!

Thanks for stopping by to share your thoughts. :)

      Wishing you all the best.
      – Carol

      • Glenn Russell

Thank you for your prompt response. It is refreshing to know that there is someone out there that is willing to personally help people without making them feel as though they need to buy something. I am, quite frankly, blown away! I have been following you since I bought AM’s books and found you on his “Live Community.” The information and constantly “fresh” content that you impart on your site makes it obvious that you are a very hard working and diligent individual, and the fact that you DO have integrity, is evident. I look forward to your Q&A tomorrow!

        • Carol Amato

          Hello Glenn!

I appreciate your kind words so very much and am humbled by your thoughtful comments. It’s a blessing to know that I’ve helped you, as this is so rewarding for me to be able to give back.

I look forward to seeing you on the live webinar. :-)

Thanks for stopping by to share your thoughts – so very kind of you.
          Take care,
          – Carol

  • Dorothy Marr

    Hi Carol

Do we have to invest any money as an affiliate to promote a product on Clickbank? If so what is the ” Estamated Cost” for one product for a month?

    Thank you

    • Carol Amato

      Hi Dorothy,

It’s completely free for you to promote any product from the ClickBank Marketplace. Being an affiliate is free. A vendor has to pay to put their product in the marketplace.

Click on the links in the above post for ClickBank, and check it out!! :)

      Take Care,
