How To Setup Your Sitemap
How To Setup Your Sitemap
In this post I’m going to show you how to set up your Sitemap.
It’s really easy to do it just takes a couple of minutes.

If you go to the bottom of this page on Carol Amato.com – scroll all the way down to the bottom you’ll see my Sitemap in the footer.
The site map is a very important page on your site. Google and other search engines really want to see us use a Sitemap.
If you click on the site map in my footer, you’ll see that it’s really a collection of all the pages on my site in one place, and it provides links to all those pages.

So Google loves the Sitemap because it can just go to the site map, and it can spider your Sitemap, and it can immediately see what your site is comprised of.
I recommend including posts in your site map as opposed to posts and pages because some pages, contact, site map, etc., are already included in the footer so it would just be redundant.
I recommend downloading the plugin called Google XML Sitemap. You would install it and then activate the plugin.
This plugin automatically creates an XML sitemap, and it submits it to the three major search engines. So this is going to help get your website crawled properly and get all of your content indexed. This will definitely help you to get organic traffic from the major search engines.
