Get Keyword Ideas with Übersuggest

I’ve talked quite a bit about keywords on my blog.  The reason I give this topic so much attention is simple.  Keywords play a very important role in content marketing.  Because of that, I’m going to introduce you to a new keyword tool today.

How to Get Keyword Ideas with Übersuggest

It’s called Übersuggest, and it can help you find the keywords people are searching for in Google.  Once you find those keywords, you can use them to drive more traffic to your website or blog.

Übersuggest is a free keyword tool that’s powered by Google Suggest.  Google Suggest is an auto fill feature available in Google.  It provides the most popular and relevant search terms for people when they browse the web.  Thus, when you use Übersuggest, you’ll gain access to the most popular search terms in Google.

You can add these terms to your website or blog in order to attract more organic (free) traffic.

Using Übersuggest

Now that you understand what Übersuggest is, I’m going to show you how to use the free keyword tool.  In this example, I’m going to take you through the process of looking for keywords related to marketing on Facebook.  As you know, Facebook marketing is a great way to drum up business, so this is a popular topic for Internet marketers.

Now that I know what my root key phase is, I can go to Ubersuggest.org and start looking for keywords.

Once I arrive at the site, I need to type my key phrase into the text box near the top of the page.  In this case, I’m going to type “Facebook marketing” into the box.  Then, I need to select “English/USA” as my language of choice.  Notice that you can also search for keywords in other languages.  This is a great option for Internet marketers who are targeting people in other countries.

Once I choose my language, I need to click on the “Suggest” button.  Now, several keyword suggestions are displayed on the page.  Remember, these phrases were pulled from Google Suggest, which means they’re very popular with web users.  That means they can definitely help me drive traffic to my website or blog.

As I scroll through the list, several keywords stand out.  However, in this example, I’m going to focus on “Facebook marketing guide.”  I know I could create a post around this key phrase.  It could have a lot of different tips and information, and it would helpful to anyone who wants to increase his presence on the social media giant.  Because of that, I really like this phrase.

Before I choose that key phrase, though, I want to get additional suggestions.  I can do that by clicking on the key phrase.  In this instance, I’ll click on “Facebook marketing guide.” Now, I see additional keywords that are related to that topic.

I can also click on these keywords and get even more ideas.  I can continue to do this until I have all of the keywords I need.

Build Your List

In this example, I just selected one key phrase.  However, if I were really conducting keyword research, I would select at least ten phrases.  Then, I would conduct research on each phrase.  If you’re not certain how to conduct keyword research, check out my post titled A Beginner’s Guide to Keyword Research.  This post will take you through the process step by step.

I recommend that you start using Übersuggest to find keywords for your website and blog today.  This tool will help you find the keywords that people are searching for in Google.  Then, you’ll be able to attract more people to your website.  Once you bring in the traffic, you can start making some money.  At that point, you can start reaching your Internet marketing goals.

What do you think?  Do you plan on using this free keyword tool?  Once you do, will you go back to the post titled A Beginner’s Guide to Keyword Research so you can finish the research process?  Let me know in the comment section below.  Also, fill me in if you have a keyword tool that you love to use.  I’m always open to suggestions, and look forward to getting your feedback.

Take Care,
Carol

      Hi Linda,

I like it too because it specifically uses the most popular terms people are searching for, which is different from Google AdWords Keyword Tool.
You’re welcome, and have a wonderful evening. Thanks for stopping by. – Carol
