Building Your Email List
An email list is one of the most important things you can have as an Internet marketer. Once you have your list in place, you’ll have people you can send marketing messages to on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
There are two main factors involved in building an email list. First you need an autoresponder, and second, you need to get people to sign up for the list. I’m going to cover both today.
First, I’m going to help you pick an autoresponder, and then I’ll show you how to link it with Facebook so you can gather lots of email addresses. This is an awesome way to begin building your list as the email addresses are already valid.
Picking an Autoresponder
Picking the right autoresponder is incredibly important. Some autoresponders only collect email addresses and send emails, while others allow users to:
- Send email newsletters
- Create custom sign up forms
- Set up follow up sequences
- Segment subscribers
- Track results
While there are other autoresponders that have these features, I recommend AWeber. First, it has a lot of great features, and second, it’s affordable. Integrating AWeber with Facebook
After you sign up with AWeber, you can place an opt-in form on your Facebook account. First, go to http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=123077107711598 and click “Add to My Page.” Select the appropriate page and click “Close.”
Next, go to your Facebook page. You’ll see a button that says “Edit Page” on the right hand side of the page. You’ll need to click on it.
Next, click on the section that says “Apps” and find the AWeber app. Then, click “Go to App.”
At this point, you’ll need to input your AWeber login information and click “Allow.” This will allow you to link your AWeber account with your Facebook page.
Next , you’ll need to choose your list and the web form. If you are not happy with your options, you can go back into AWeber and create new lists and web forms. Then, you can select your new lists from this page.
Then, save your changes. At this point, your form will be live. You can find it by going to your Facebook page and clicking on the “AWeber” tab.
