How to Make Use of Social Media
Are you looking to enhance your appeal in the Internet marketing arena?
Look for effective social media marketing strategies.
Social media has certainly moved beyond the young and yippee crowd and is an ideal platform for online businesses to build their brand and eventually increase productivity.
Here are some simple ways that I think social media can be used for:
Establish a community:
Social media is the right place to create your own community.
Heard about the proverb- like attracts like? Well, this is what online communities do. You can create a community of fans for your products on your blog or Facebook site.
Get attention:
Social media is a hub where you can find many potential customers. So, announce about something important like coupon or deals.
Usually, customers look out for money saving options; hence deals often grab attention of several customers. You could also run some sort of a contest to get folks interested. Be sure to follow through and deliver the predetermined prize.
Generate demand:
Creating demand is an important tool used by popular brands to generate a sensation about their product.
I have seen countless companies creating a market for their yet to be released product or service just by announcing it on Facebook,
Twitter, or other social media sites.
These platforms are used to discuss the products features, uniqueness, trendy outlook, price and special discounts.
Offer support:
The best way to convince a person to buy a product is to help him understand the product.
This can be done by solving their problems, answering their questions and addressing their doubts. Dedicate some of your time everyday to answer their questions.
Remember, customers need a dedicated person to resolve their queries, if you are not available, they will start to look out for someone else.
Monitor trends:
Monitor the social media trends on regular basis to stay ahead of your competitors.
Facebook is getting ready to go public and there is a buzz in the social media marketing community about the down side to this historic event. LinkedIn has just published a great article about it here where you can keep up to date with what’s happening with Facebook going public.
Please leave a comment and let me know what your strategies are or perhaps your struggles.

Before you begin your Internet marketing campaign, start with some research to gain some insight about the industry. Since, Google keeps on updating its search engine algorithms with new features, you need to be on your toes to avoid your website being negatively hit.
Remember, it’s difficult to boost your website ranking in Google’s Penguin arena but collapsing it is very easy. So, don’t ever look for black hat techniques such as automatic submission, article spinning and other automatic strategies. Performing the mundane every day tasks manually are essential today, and I suggest you learn the necessary skills yourself first, then outsource if you so choose. Use effective white hat techniques to please the Penguin.
It’s better to write your own web content, sales page or article rather than pending on third party writers since you are probably aware of all the techniques and tools employed within your marketing arena and which direction you want to take, as well as what “voice” you decide on.
